John Vignocchi is the Founder and Managing Member of Urban Capital, a Sacramento-based developer focused on ground-up multifamily and mixed-use projects in the urban core.
John began his career in investment banking with Piper Jaffray's Technology & Clean Tech team. In 2011, he joined SunEdison, where he rose to CFO of the North American Utility and Distributed Generation business unit and helped manage a $2 billion solar development portfolio. He later joined C3.ai, selling enterprise AI and machine learning applications to oil and gas, utility, and manufacturing companies.
A Santa Barbara native, John graduated cum laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. After several years in San Francisco, he and his wife, Kaitlyn, moved to her hometown of Sacramento in 2019, where he founded Urban Capital.
